M/C Reviews and M/C in general are currently run on virtually no budget, by University of Queensland students and staff who find
time for M/C in between their other work commitments in study, teaching, and administration. To ensure a future for M/C,
to maintain the quality of articles and Website, and to encourage more participation from the wider media
and cultural studies community, however, we will have to generate some returns. We're not expecting to make
money through M/C, nor are we aiming to, but we'd at least like to cover our expenses.
That is why, in the spirit of the Internet, we are asking our readers for voluntary donations. Think of it
as a kind of shareware fee: everything on the M/C Website is available for free, but if you like what you
read, and would like to see M/C and M/C Reviews continue, send us A$ 20, or whatever else you can spare. Other than a
place on our list of patrons, you won't receive anything in return immediately, but when our
M/C T-shirts or other products become available, or when it is time to print a collection of M/C articles
in book form, you will receive substantial discounts. (If you believe your donation may be tax-deductible,
we're happy to send you a receipt.)
For all of us, M/C is a labour of love, not a job we do for profit. We're grateful to everybody who is showing
their appreciation of our work -- your support keeps us going.
